Tree Removal Cost
The Location
Sometimes a tree is located in hard to access areas such as sloped yards, rocky or muddy soil, close to power lines or your house and other buildings. In such situations, the cost of tree removal might increase.
Risk Factors and Hazards
If a tree is too big and touching power lines, or blocking sunlight, or other installations, it might increase the cost of removing it.
Size of the Tree
The larger the tree, the more equipment is needed and the more time the team needs to be on site
Time, Crew and Specialists
The more time and the more crew required, the more you have to pay for tree removal.
Additional Services
Additional services like stump grinding, unrelated debris removal might increase the cost. Similarly, additional Rut Prevention precautions may add additional costs to your project. While we take reasonable precautions to avoid creating ruts, some terrains and weather conditions, especially in emergency circumstances, can make rutting unavoidable without employing additional precautions which can add time (thus expense). Our 'Rut Prevention' add-on includes the systematic laying down of special mats to prevent heavy equipment from leaving ruts in the property or lawn. Be sure to ask about "Rut Prevention' during your initial estimate.
Do I Need to Hire a Certified Arborist for Removing a Tree?
The simple answer is Yes. Removing a large tree is a somewhat more complicated operation than is frequently represented in a film or television program. The benefits of video editing and a little poetic license may make tree cutting appear to be a ridiculously simple operation that can be completed in a matter of minutes.
In reality, removing a tree may be pretty challenging since it necessitates meticulous preparation in terms of safety considerations and avoiding damage to any neighboring property and/or structures. The following are the reasons for hiring a certified arborist for tree removal.
Safety of your home and property
Experience of an Arborist
Saving your effort and time
Proper tools and equipment

It depends! There is unfortunately no ‘one size fits all’ cost for having a tree removed. We will need to consider all aspects such as tree size, tree species, and location as well as accessibility for our trucks and crew.
At this time there are no requirements for tree removal permits on private property in New haven county. Likewise, there are currently no tree species in Connecticut that are considered protected.
Although it is never our intention to damage a customer’s yard or public property and our crews work very hard to avoid this, there will likely be some disturbance to the area.
We do have large, ground protection mats that can support over 100 tons. However, due to their large size and addiitonal time it takes to deploy this precaution, we do add an additional labor charge for usage. If you are super concerned about preventing ruts, please be sure to mention that when you call so we can include it in your estimate.
Yes, we will! Please let us know what you would like done with the leftover wood when we come out for an estimate and we will accommodate you.
We do not offer wood splitting or cord stacking however if you would like us to leave the remainder of your tree in firewood length pieces (about 18 to 20 inches) then we would be more than happy to do so!
It depends on the size, location and number of trees. We can give an estimated time after the inspection once we've gathered all the relevent information and have inspected the area.
